NEW HIRES
*Vickie Walworth, CDC, was hired as corporate on site manager for sales at Ward/Kraft Inc., Fort Scott, Kan. Walworth has more than 20 years of industry experience, and has worked as a distributor sales representative and at Perfection Forms Corp., CFC Print Solutions, and Ward/Kraft Inc. She spent the past five years out of the print industry. Walworth has been active in the print community, and was named DMIA Manufacturer Member of the year in 1998, as well as serving as a DMIA Regional Coordinator and chairing the CFC Accreditation Board.
*Doug Roberts was hired as national sales manager for Atlanta and Cincinnati at Graphic Dimensions, Newport, Ky. He has more than 25 years of manufacturing sales experience in the distributor segment, and was most recently employed by Cenveo/Quality Park Products. In his new role, Roberts leads the sales and marketing for both locations and explores opportunities for expansion. Rosa Sheffield was hired as office manager for Graphic Dimensions’ Atlanta office. She has more than 27 years of experience in the industry, and was previously an office manager with Printegra in Atlanta.
*Robin Dodd was hired as commercial print division manager at Wright Business Graphics’ facility in Portland, Ore. Previously, Dodd was an account manager at Direct Marketing Solutions and he has more than 30 years of experience in the commercial printing industry
*Antonio (Tony) Bova was hired as operations manager of the Columbus, Ohio digital print center for WorkflowOne, Dayton, Ohio. Previously, he was operations manager for CitiGroup’s statement processing facility in Columbus and worked for Ward/Kraft and Moore Document Solutions. In his new role, Bova leads application design, development, account service, production, warehousing, fulfillment, distribution and other tasks.
*George Mitschele Jr. was hired as president and COO of Bernadette Print Group and Jet Envelope, Hazelwood, Mo. He oversees strategic planning, management recruiting, capital formation, operations reviews and works with investors and the financial community. Previously, Mitschele was the CFO at Skelly and Loy, and was employed at USA Direct, Glatfelter Papers and KPMG.
*CJ Wilson was hired as a sales and marketing rep at ISODISC, Omaha, Neb. She is responsible for account management, business development and marketing. Wilson has more than 25 years of experience in the photography, printing and service-related industries. Previously, she worked at iMARK Print Finishing Solutions, AccuCut, Sacco Schuster Marketing Communications and Presto-X-Company. She has also owned her own photography business for more than 15 years.
David Andrews was hired as director of education at the Packaging Association of Canada. He is responsible for developing and enhancing the PAC Packaging Certificate Program. Andrews has more than 40 years of experience in the packaging industry, and has worked at Smurfit-MBI and Atlantic Packaging Products of Toronto.
Heath Luetkens was hired as director of technology at CGS Publishing Technologies International, Minneapolis. He has 18 years of experience in strategic planning, management and technical development, and production in printing and publishing. Most recently, he was production manager for TIME Inc., and worked at Quad Graphics. In his new role, Luetkens oversees development of new products, technical support, market research plans and other technological strategies.
Michael Haecker was hired as VP of sales at GMG, Tuebingen, Germany, a color management and proofing software developer. Haecker oversees worldwide sales for the company. Previously, he worked at Fiberlink Communications Corp., Bea Systems Inc., Silicon Graphics and Hewlett Packard. Jawdatt Mawassii was promoted to VP of strategy and business development at GMG, where he works on the company’s long-term strategy.
Frank Glunt was hired as Midwest regional field sales manager at Xanté Corp., Mobile, Ala. Glunt, a 23-year industry veteran, oversees sales of the company’s CTP and RIP solutions. His region includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Ted LeBow was hired as vice president, division manager at Vertis Communications’ facility in North Brunswick, N.J. LeBow has more than 15 years of experience, and has worked at Pret-Mose, CitySort, Product Development Corp, DDS Harris, De’Cor Gravure Corp. and Taylor Made Woodworks.
Jan Sevcik was hired by InnerWorkings Inc., Chicago, as senior vice president of technology and e-commerce. He oversees the administration of patent filings and has extensive experience in the print industry and related sourcing techniques. Previously, Sevcik was president of E-Corporate Printers in Seattle.
Ben Schwartz was hired as senior vice president of people and leadership at Quebecor World, Montreal, Canada. Previously, Schwartz was the vice president of corporate human resources at Molson Coors Brewing Company in Denver, and worked for other Molson divisions in Canada. He also held positions at Pratt & Whitney and CAE Electronics Ltd.
PROMOTIONS
*John Kassal was promoted to director of research and development at Continental Datalabel, Elgin, Ill. He travels internationally to discover new manufacturing methods and products. Kassal has been a plant manager for 27 years at Continental, where he started as a printer in the late 1970s. Steve Solberg was promoted to plant manager at Continental Datalabel. In his new position, Solberg oversees the manufacturing process and implements new procedures. He was hired as a press operator at the company in 1979 and was most recently involved in product research and development.
Holly Muscolino was promoted to VP of marketing at Global Document Solutions, New York City, where she was previously the director of marketing. In her new role, Muscolino works with other members of the executive team to lead the long-term marketing plan and reinforce the company’s brand. Prior to joining GDS, Muscolino was director of the document outsourcing and production workflow solutions practice area at InfoTrends, and held positions at Agfa, Harlequin and Cascade Systems.
Ken Winterhalter was promoted to president of the paper business segment of Unisource Worldwide Inc., in Norcross, Ga. Most recently, he was senior VP of sales for the paper division and has been the VP of strategic development. Glenn Barton was promoted to senior VP of sales for the paper division at Unisource Worldwide, where he was previously area VP of sales in the paper segment. Barton has been employed at Unisource for 36 years.
IN MEMORIAM
Steven Philip Otto, 50, a sales rep for Ennis Inc., died June 20. He was employed at the DeWitt, Iowa facility. In more than 25 years of working in the print industry, Otto held positions with Ennis, Wisconsin Business Forms/Northstar Computer Forms and Vanier Graphics.
