Lyson Inc., Elk Grove Village, Ill., announced the release of its bulk ink feed system and bulk ink for Epson’s popular Stylus Photo R2400 ink jet printer. According to the company, unlike most bulk feed systems that use modified generic bottles and foam-filled standard ink cartridges, the Lyson system for the Epson R2400 uses components specifically designed for use in continuous ink supply systems. The space-saving modular ink reservoirs can be topped up while printing and sealed when not in use to prolong ink life. The proprietary bulk ink feed cartridges feature built-in pressure dampers to automatically regulate ink flow. It also features filters to protect the print head and uses no foam rubber. The Lyson bulk feed system for the Epson Stylus Photo R2400 comes complete with a set of eight 4 oz. ink bottles and a CD containing instructions, a user guide and free ICC color user profiles for Lyson inks on a variety of media. Xinet Inc., Berkeley, Calif., announced its time saving Uploader tool and Xinet WebNative Version 8. The Uploader is a stand-alone application that lets vendors and contractors transmit photography, artwork and other deliverables to a client’s Xinet WebNative or WebNative Venture database by dragging and dropping files onto a desktop icon. The Uploader requires vendors and contractors to enter metadata details before uploading files. The WebNative Venture database then automatically accepts that metadata and triggers email notifications and other actions to streamline the workflow.  WebNative Version 8 now allows users to review digital assets and their metadata and enables users to make web previews from RAW camera. The new version also allows designers to keep track of rounds of approved revisions, enables art directors to review work in progress and allows clients to view multiple versions of artwork in the context of one document because of a new versioning tool that allows the software program to function with both Illustrator CS and CS2 workflows. Call (510) 845-0555.
