Michael
Richards was named production
manager for the Alpharetta, Ga.,
plant of NextWave Digital Marketing,
a division of Wise Business Forms,
based in Alpharetta. Richards
will head the digital project
division in Georgia and focus
on exceeding the needs of distributors,
print brokers and agencies. Bret
Marshall was named general manager
of Wise Business Forms’
Miami plant. Prior to joining
the company, Marshall worked at
Avery Dennison for 10 years.
Trish
Murdoch joined Relyco Sales
Inc., Dover, N.H., as an account
executive in the telesales department.
Murdoch has more than 20 years
of experience in retail sales.
Loreen Rosenthal also joined
Relyco’s telesales team
as an account executive. She owned
and operated a Sir Speedy QuickPrint
Franchise in Lowell, Mass., for
28 years.
Mike
Bertolani
was named executive vice president
of worldwide sales and marketing
at Degrava Systems LLC, Roswell,
Ga. He’s responsible for
establishing worldwide distribution
and support services for Degrava
Systems DP 8500 narrow web digital
printer for the short run label
and tag market. Prior to joining
Degrava Systems, Bertolani held
management positions at AGFA,
Crosfield Electronics, Dicomed,
IBM, Xeikon and Nipson America.
Edwin
H. Yeoman was named corporate
technology manager of Muller Martini
Corp., Hauppauge, N.Y. He will
lead the development and deployment
of emerging technologies in strategic
segments of Muller Martini’s
U.S. marketplace. Prior to his
appointment at Muller Martini,
Yeoman held management positions
at Goss International, Heidelberg,
AM International and Harris Graphics.
Alain
Ring joined
Man Roland Inc., East Rutherford,
N.J., as a district sales manager
in the company’s eastern
region. Prior to working at Man
Roland, Ring was a production
executive at printing facilities
throughout the country, including
Shorewood Packaging Corp., Arkay
Packaging and Progress Press.
Linda
Manes Goodwin joined IO Integration,
based in San Francisco, as sales
representative for the Bay area
and the Western U.S. She has 26
yeas of experience in publishing
production with an emphasis on
digital workflows. Prior to working
at IO Integration, Manes Goodwin
founded Manes Goodwin Associates.
She also was vice president of
manufacturing for PC World magazine
and production manager at Esquire
magazine.
Thomas
Dalgleish joined MeadWestvaco
Corp., Stamford, Conn., as vice
president of supply chain for
the company’s new Packaging
Resources Group. Dalgleish will
be responsible for establishing
a supply-chain structure and integrating
the order fulfillment process,
including customer service, capacity
planning, inventory management,
warehousing, logistics and procurement.
Sutton Baldwin, Brian Chambon,
Jeff Jensen, Charlie Johnson,
Nick Kern, Frank Oliveri and
Dave Reinhart were named members
of the leadership team for the
Packaging Resources Group. Baldwin
will serve as vice president of
human resources. He recently served
as director of corporate compensation
and benefits. Chambon will serve
as the group’s vice president
of business transformation. He
previously served as vice president
of finance and administration
for the MeadWestvaco Coated Board.
Jensen will become the group’s
vice president of operations.
He previously served as senior
vice president of operations for
the former Packaging Resources
Group. Johnson was named vice
president of global lines of business.
He was most recently senior vice
president of commercial operations
for the former Packaging Resources
Group. Kern was named vice president
of product development & technical
sales service. Prior to this position,
Kern served as vice president
of converting operations and technical
services. Oliveri was named vice
president of marketing and business
development. He was previously
vice president of marketing for
the former Packaging Resources
Group. Reinhart was named vice
president of commercial operations.
He most recently served as president
of specialty papers.
PROMOTIONS
Dean
Durbin was named president
and CEO of Vertis Inc., Baltimore,
Md. Former CEO Don Roland will
remain on the Vertis Board of
Directors as non-executive chairman.
He will continue to advise and
assist Durbin and the management
team on assignments that support
the company’s innovation
and growth. Prior to his most
recent promotion, Durbin served
as CFO of Vertis from 2000 to
2005. In 2004, he assumed the
additional title of president
while retaining his position as
CFO. In February 2005, he was
named president and COO of Vertis.
Also, David Pfeifer was
promoted to senior vice president
of sales and premedia services
at Vertis. Prior to his promotion,
Pfeifer served as a regional managing
director. Brian Sinta was
promoted to vice president of
sales and consumer packaged goods
in the Midwest region in the premedia
division where he will be responsible
for the expansion of services
for manufacturers of consumer
packaged goods. Roni Buczynski
was promoted to vice president
of Northeast premedia operations.
Prior to this promotion, Buczynski
was vice president of finance
and managing director of Vertis’
North Haven facility in July 2000.
Marke
Baker
was promoted to vice president
of customer service at Mitsubishi
Lithographic Presses, Lincolnshire,
Ill. Baker, formerly director
of customer service, will ensure
that total customer satisfaction
is the focal point of all service
activities. He has several years
of experience in customer communications
and press installations.
Kara
Mills
was named Ohio-based sales representative
for Four Colour Imports Ltd.,
based in Louisville, Ky. Mills’
sales territory includes 10 states
from the Northeast to the Gulf
Coast. Prior to her current position,
Mills served as a production manager
at Four Colour Imprints.
RECOGNITION
Ted
Schultze, president of Symbology
Inc., Maple Grove, Minn., was
listed as an expert provider in
the Association of Automatic Identification
and Mobility’s (AIM) Global
Authority Speakers Bureau database.
Schultze was included because
of his expertise in the automatic
identification, data capture and
bar coding fields. He will specialize
in bar code legal risks, standards
and training for prepress and
printing companies.
IN
MEMORIAM
Robert
J. Gans, the founder of Gans
Ink & Supply Co., Los Angeles,
died Feb. 17 after a brief battle
with cancer. He was 88. Gans originally
worked for Sleight Hellmuth Ink
Co. before he served in the Army
during World War II where he earned
several commendations, including
two Purple Hearts and a Bronze
Star. After the war, Gans moved
to Los Angeles and founded the
Gans Ink & Supply Co. in 1950.
Gans Ink has since grown to 12
locations throughout the United
States. Gans is survived by three
daughters, seven grandchildren
and numerous nieces, nephews and
great-grandchildren. Contributions
