PEOPLE
Congratulations to the following people at
Major Business Systems Inc., Hillsborough, N.C., which just
celebrated its 39th year in business: Darryl Moore has been
there for 39 years, and Joe Bates, Debbie Berry, and Billy
Farrish have been there 30 or more years. Twenty or more years
of employment: Gay Wilkerson, Brink Hunt, Robert Scarlett, Jeff
Russell, Audrey Josey, Janet Wheeler, Mike Long and Greg
Corbett. Ten or more years: Stan Shanklin, Steve Collins, Tina
Grubbs, Charles Harris, Mike Ferris, Floyd McCullough, Ted
Cook, Floyd Thacker, Steve Howerton, Ron Travis and Mike
Trantham.
Mike Lutz has been named CEO of AB&C
Group, McLean, Va. He brings more than three decades’
experience in senior management, having worked at Hanover
Direct, Spiegel and JCPenney. His immediate new duties will be
to integrate new systems, facilities and organizational changes
as AB&C moves its national fulfillment center later this
year.
Nic Greco, a former print industry
executive at MBF Corporation and Printegra, where he was VP of
information technology, has opened The Greco Law Firm Inc. in
the Atlanta metro area. Greco was one of the original members
of the DMIA XML Standards Group. He will focus on serving small
to mid-size businesses with pre-incorporation planning,
financing, employee termination and other matters.
Elinor (Ellie) Tappé has joined
Pictorial Offset Corp., Carlstadt, N.J., as VP of business
development. She will report to Gary Pawlaczyk, newly promoted
to senior VP of sales and marketing. Tappé was formerly
in business development at Lewmar Paper Company and also the
East Coast national account manager for Appleton Coated.
Janet Clarke has been appointed to the
board of directors of Mimeo.com. Clarke is the president and
founder of Clarke Littlefield LLC, a financial industry
consulting service. Previously she has held leadership
positions at RR Donnelley, KnowledgeBase Marketing, Young &
Rubicam, DealerTrack and Citigroup. She also serves as director
of six other organizations, including Forbes.com, Asbury
Automotive Group, ExpressJet Holdings and eFunds Corporation.
Scott Borhauer has joined Blanchard Systems
in New Orleans as director of new business development. He will
introduce clients to the Blanchard premedia platform. He has
extensive experience in premedia corporate management and 14
years in print manufacturing. Borhauer has worked for Office
Tiger as a global premedia manager and Brown Printing Company
as corporate premedia manager as well as at Von Hoffman and RR
Donnelley.
Bill Sheldon has been appointed senior VP
of Document Management and Printing Solutions at Sunnex Corp.,
where he will oversee the new Document Management business
group. Sheldon has more than 28 years of channel experience and
23 years of direct experience with HP, where he worked until
late 2005.
Fusion UV Systems Inc., Gaithersburg, Md.,
appointed Attila Nagy as sales manager for Hungary, Slovakia
and the Czech Republic. In this newly-created position, Nagy
will be based in Kolárovo, Slovakia, and will be
responsible for sales and application support for the region.
Nagy has worked for Amstel AG and Raflatac in similar
positions.
In Memoriam
Former DMIA Member Robert “Bob”
Shaw Sr., 74, died July 7 due to cancer-related complications.
Shaw founded Brandywine Graphics in 1969 in Elsmere, Del., and
worked in the printing industry for 37 years. A veteran of the
United States Air Force, Shaw enjoyed gardening, cooking,
traveling and NASCAR. The Shaw family held a burial ceremony on
July 11.
