Print Solutions August 2006
president’s message
By TIMOTHY J. MEHL, CDC
The Road Ahead
Stop me if this sounds familiar: new leads,
new ideas, new technology, value-added client services,
diversification, marketing and management. That’s right,
those are things that will take your company to the next level
of profitability and market share in the coming year –
your company’s “Dear Santa” list. Savvy
business leaders with an eye on growth – that’s you
– already know that. More importantly, the question is
how to get there.
Think of the Print Solutions Conference and
Expo as your orienteering session for the road ahead. Let this
Show Guide and the Oct. 3-5 conference and expo in Chicago
serve as your map, taking you where you want to be in the
industry. It’s the most comprehensive showcase of
products, services, education and equipment in the industry.
This year there are a number of
never-before offered attractions: a Newt Gingrich speech,
equipment demonstrations on the show floor and a group of new
applications that are proven time and money savers. This is a
perfect opportunity to find out how the products you sell are
being produced and to see cutting-edge solutions. (Check out
the Expo Detailed Schedule on page 166.)
On the show floor, we’ll also have
learning and networking opportunities in two different places:
the Industry Innovation Theaters and the Idea Exchange Centers.
Drop in for a 45-minute session at an Innovation Theater, a
manufacturer-led seminar about what your business partner can
offer you and your clients. Or sit down for one of 34 Idea
Exchange roundtables, hour-long discussions lead by DMIA
members or industry consultants where you can discuss
prospecting techniques, health insurance and even your golf
swing.
Not enough? Sign up for the full conference
package and enjoy an additional 14 hours of Learning Labs,
education sessions that will cover the state of the major
directs and how to drive traffic to your website. That also
includes the PEAK Awards Banquet and Opening Reception, as well
as the Breakfast of Leaders where I’ll pass the torch to
Incoming DMIA President Jim Riley and we’ll all envisage
the year ahead. (Check out the Conference Detailed Schedule on
page 50.)
But don’t just take my word for it.

Take this step to invest in the future of
your business, your employees and yourself. It’s a
certain opportunity to prosper, which is one road sign that
should be hard to miss.
See you in Chicago!
