American Solutions for Business Supports Community Stewardship
American Solutions for Business, Glenwood, Minn., formed a committee of 10 to 12 employee volunteers to organize and plan the company’s fundraising efforts. “For a while, it seemed that the bulk of our donation efforts took place in December, a time when families are taxed to the maximum as far as time, money and stress,” said Faith Anderson, marketing specialist. “So we took a look at our areas of focus and decided to spread the fundraising efforts throughout the year.” The employee-owned company, which has about 550 associates, has garnered employee enthusiasm for the charitably minded enterprises.

Their most recent fundraising effort took place in early December and brought in more than $5,000 for Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota. The 27-year-old organization works to end child abuse and neglect in the state, as a chapter of a national organization.

The ASB staff hosted a silent auction and the company donated a paid day off. ASB also hosted “Christmas in July” events, a drive for overseas military personnel and other events.
