Informative Article on Financial Market
Thanks for a very good article in your November issue on selling to clients in the financial industry ("A Bankable Niche," p. 58). Writer Susan Keen Flynn did an extremely good job.
These are days of wonder. This is the time in life when I had hoped to take excessive days off and watch someone else deal with the daily issues of running a forms distributorship. But the necessity of constantly reinventing our business is one of life's challenges that's a bit scary to delegate. Reading the story helped all of us at ConmarSystems feel like we're on the right track to be viable survivors as our industry evolves faster than we prefer.
Print Solutions is the most informative publication out there. Brad Holt, DMIA's vice president of publications and new media, has done an outstanding job of staying in front of the industry's evolution.

Industry is Far From Mature
Our industry is perceived as mature (by outsiders and ourselves), but that only reflects the state of our traditional forms products. We're far from mature. In fact, we're in the beginning of a new maturing process in which companies are offering more value-added products and services. In the long term, those who invest in technology will profit. We have a lot to offer, but we need to market ourselves a little bit differently.
The term "evolution" doesn't properly describe our industry, as we're changing much too quickly for that term. Instead, we're in the middle of a revolution. What better time for young blood to enter our industry than now?

The question of the month:
In the 1990s, many industry pros predicted fast growth for electronic forms. Why aren't more clients using them by now, and are
e-forms still a viable growth area for distributors?
