PROMOTIONS
Mark A. Angelson was named CEO of manufacturer Moore Corporation Ltd., Mississauga, Canada. He has served as the company's non-executive chairman and lead independent director. Previously, Angelson served as deputy chairman of Big Flower Press Holdings, now known as Vertis. He replaces Robert G. Burton, who stepped down as chairman, president and CEO but remains a senior advisor to the company. Alfred C. Eckert III was named chairman. Eckert, who has served as a company director since 2000, is chairman and CEO of GSC Partners. Thomas W. Oliva was named president and COO. He previously served as president of the company's forms and labels division and its outsourcing division. Prior to joining the company in 2001, Oliva served as president of Quebecor World's gravure catalog and magazine group. Thomas J. Quinlan III was named executive vice president--office of the chief executive. Quinlan has served as a company executive vice president since 2000.
NEW HIRES
Jeff Scott was named president of Portland, Ore., distributorship DocuSource Print Management. He focuses on client satisfaction, new products and markets. Scott, who has 15 years of industry experience, served nine years in various leadership positions at UARCO and six years at FMC/Merrill. John Curtin was promoted to vice president of operations. A 23-year company veteran, he focuses on operational excellence, client retention and program development. Jim Devine joined the company as vice president of business development. Devine, who has 20 years of experience with UARCO and Moore Corporation Ltd., focuses on developing business relationships with current and prospective clients. Steven Alfano joined the company as a business development manager. Alfano, who has 10 years of print management experience, is responsible for marketing the company's print management program to new and existing customers.
Dick Dennis was appointed vice president of sales at manufacturer Label Art, Wilton, N.H. He's responsible for managing the company's regional sales managers and developing national accounts. Dennis, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, previously served TRANSKRIT® and Moore Corporation Ltd.
Ronald E. Daly was named president and CEO of supplier Océ-USA Holding Inc., Chicago. He's responsible for managing the company's North American operations. He's the first American to run the company's North American operation and in March will become the first American to sit on the board of the firm's Netherlands-based parent company, Océ N.V. Previously, Daly served as president of R.R. Donnelley Print Solutions.
Laura Field joined Wood Dale, Ill.-based supplier Xeikon America as vice president of Xeikon Digital Papers. Previously, she served as president of Russell Field Paper Co.
Patrick Dinley joined distributorship franchise Proforma as owner of Proforma Communications Group, Delray Beach, Fla. Previously, he served more than 26 years at Norelco, most recently as president and CEO.
AWARD
Mary Ellis, customer service manager at manufacturer The Allen Company, Blanchester, Ohio, was awarded the 2002 New England Promotional Products Association (NEPPA) Educational Scholarship. She may use the $1,500 scholarship to attend a Promotional Product Association International (PPAI) Continuing Education Seminar, PPAI's Online University or another business-related course approved by NEPPA. She must use the scholarship before Dec. 31, 2004.
IN MEMORIAM
Alvin B. Cassner, 88, president and CEO of Hillsboro, Ohio, manufacturer Rotary Forms Press Inc., died Oct. 11, 2002, in Florida. He also was president and CEO of the following subsidiaries: Unit Sets Inc., Wilmington, Ohio; Computer Stock Forms Inc., Greenfield, Ohio; and Quality Computer Forms, Naples, Fla. Cassner was dedicated to giving back to the community. His Cassner Foundation provided donations for construction of athletic buildings at Hillsboro and McClain high schools, the Highland County Society for Children and Adults, local police and fire departments, and five annual $2,000 scholarships for graduates of high schools in Highland County, Ohio. Cassner was a member of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church and Snow Hill Country Club, New Vienna, Ohio. He was Business Forms Professional of the Year in 1985. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice E. Cassner; and sons, Alvin, Eric and Glen Cassner. He is survived by his sons, Jon Cassner and Carl Cassner, both of Hillsboro; grandchildren Cathy Cassner of Hillsboro, Janette (Mike) Emery of Gilbert, Ariz., Curtis (Peggy) Cassner of Naples, Fla., Brian (Lori) Cassner of Hillsboro, and Eric Cassner of Lynchburg, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, Bruce, Kelley, Abby, Aaron and William; and sister Cecila Angerelli of Milford, Mich. Services were held Oct. 15 at Hillsboro First Presbyterian Church with interment at Hillsboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hillsboro First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Main St., Hillsboro, OH 45133.
