Integrated Form is Best Vitamin
Coats says the forms have been processing well through the vitamin nutritional company's laser printers. If the membership campaign proves successful, the vitamin nutritional company plans to order 100,000 more forms.

Integrated products account for only 2 percent of Suncoast Marketing's sales, but Scala says they're a valuable addition to his business. The $8 million distributorship offers business forms, promotional products and computer supplies. "It certainly is the right solution for certain companies," Scala says. "Integrated products are differentiated from others because it combines what used to take two to three steps into one. This is a big time-saver in the proper environment."

Valmeyer, Ill.-based manufacturer MAR Graphics produced the 81/2 x 11-inch form, which included an integrated label on the bottom and an affixed 71/2-millimeter vinyl card on the top. Although the vitamin nutritional company has retail stores, most of its business is mail-order. The forms are for first-time members. Non-variable information, such as the vitamin nutritional company's logo and contact information, is preprinted on the front of the form. A disclaimer is preprinted on the back. The vitamin nutritional company prints variable information in house on its laser printers. Each integrated label is printed with the new member's name and address. The vinyl cards are printed with the person's name and membership start date. The card is useful when members call the vitamin nutritional company to place an order, Scala says.

According to Brian Coats, sales representative at MAR Graphics, the project's turnaround time was a challenge because the complex form required several different materials and four pieces of equipment to make. The affixed plastic card required special laminate, commonly called piggyback material. When the end user peels the card off, approximately 1 millimeter of laminate is left behind on the carrier. "MAR Graphics came through with flying colors," Scala says.
INTEGPRD
For several years, Suncoast Marketing Inc. has been providing a vitamin nutritional company with a packing slip that includes an integrated label. Bob Scala, president of the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based distributorship, was pleased when the customer recently requested an integrated product that included a label and a membership card. The biggest challenge? Suncoast Marketing had less than three weeks to deliver 35,000 forms.
