PROMOTIONS
Roger Buck, CDC, was promoted to national
sales manager at Fort Scott, Kan.-based manufacturer Ward/Kraft Inc. He's
responsible for managing the sales activities of the company's ShortRun, Kansas
Forms and Ohio Forms divisions. Mike West, CFC, also was
promoted to national sales manager. He's responsible for overseeing the
company's Kansas Labels, LongRun Labels and Ohio Labels divisions. Kevin
Marquardt, CFC, was promoted to director of pricing. He's responsible
for implementing a modernized pricing system that ensures the overall health of
the company and focuses on market competitiveness. Shana Emerson
was promoted to corporate marketing director, Gayla Gardenhire
was promoted to Kansas Forms sales representative, DeAnn
Welch was promoted to Kansas Labels sales representative, Jodi
King was promoted to Ohio Forms sales representative, Amy
Gaddis was promoted to Ohio Labels sales representative and office
manager, and Chuck Harper was promoted to ShortRun sales representative.
Joseph L. Klenke was named vice president
of field operations at Dayton, Ohio-based manufacturer Standard Register. He's
responsible for driving operational excellence in the firm's contact-to-cash
process, and managing customer support and sales operations. A 17-year company
veteran, he previously served as director of marketing and in various sales
management positions. Rathin Sinha joined the company as vice
president of strategic marketing. He's responsible for defining market and
growth strategies, and driving the firm's product and service portfolios. He
served most recently as a director of e-commerce and a senior director of
business planning at Kinko's. Rick Ball was named director of procurement for the company's Document Management strategic business unit. He's responsible for source selection and price negotiation for all major raw materials, supplies and services for the Document Management unit. Also, he manages corporate subcontracting and lease facilities. Previously, he served as director of purchasing at Rubbermaid Home Products, as vice president of purchasing at Formica Corporation North American Operations and as vice president of purchasing at Anchor Hocking Packaging.
Jim Leone was named vice president of mail
operations at Chanhassen, Minn.-based The Instant Web Companies, a printing,
envelope and mailing service provider. Leone is responsible for advancing the
firm's leadership position in commingling and mailing logistics as part of its
vertical solution for direct marketers. He also oversees other operations,
including mailing services, data processing and personalization, at the
company's two lettershop facilities in Chanhassen and Little Falls, Minn.
Previously, he served as president and CEO of Nitro Data Systems and as vice
president of sales and marketing at CTC Distribution Services. Don
Brady, who served as interim director of mail operations, continues to serve as vice president of product and process development.
NEW HIRES
Geoff Clark joined the sales staff of Bend, Ore-based distributorship Centro Information Systems. Previously, he served as general manager of a computer printing solutions firm. A 1992 graduate of the University of Oregon, Clark has a service-oriented background in marketing, promotions and sales.
Alister Reynolds was elected to the board of directors of Englewood, Colo.-based manufacturer Mail-Well Inc. He serves as senior advisor to the office of the chairman at Quest Diagnostics Inc. Previously, Reynolds served as Quest Diagnostics' senior vice president of U.S. operations and was responsible for the integration of the SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories acquisition. He joined Corning Inc., the former parent company of Quest Diagnostics, in 1982 and held a variety of executive positions with the company, including vice president of strategic planning, vice president of information technology and communications, and general manager of the New England and California regions.
David A. Samide was appointed advertising and marketing support manager at supplier Prime UV Systems Inc., Carol Stream, Ill. He's responsible for the company's advertising and promotional materials, its public relations and trade show activities, and its web site. Samide graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from North Central College, Naperville, Ill., and has an analytical background that gives him working knowledge of the UV printing/converting process.
Ed Dedman was named product manager of labels and plastic cards at supplier SICPA North America Inc., Brooklyn Park, Minn. A 24-year printing ink/graphic arts industry veteran, he has experience with ink production, color matching, quality control, process improvement, inventory control, research and development, technical service, sales, marketing and management. He has served as a public speaker at industry functions such as the Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute Technical Conference, the Flexographic Technical Association Forum and the International In-Mold Labeling Conference.
AWARDS
Barry Barnhart and Wayne Holsinger
were recognized for 25 years of service to manufacturer NPC Inc.,
Claysburg, Pa. They received special gifts at NPC's 16th Annual Employee
Appreciation Night, held March 23 at the Jaffa Mosque, Altoona, Pa. Barnhart,
who joined the company on June 2, 1976, serves as a small-package coordinator.
Holsinger, who joined the company on Jan. 26, 1976, serves NPC's bindery
division. The event also recognized 33 other employees, including Karen
Butler , who has served NPC for 20 years.
IN MEMORIAM
Hal Kobey, CFC, 70, senior account representative at Dallas distributorship Multi/Forms Inc., died suddenly on March 17. A 31-year company veteran and a 45-year industry veteran, Kobey was an account representative at UARCO before he joined Multi/Forms. An enthusiastic sports fan, he loyally supported athletics at his alma mater, Southern Methodist University, and was an avid golfer. Kobey also was an active member of the Republican Party in Texas. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Mary Kobey of Billings, Mont.; daughter and son-in-law, Suzan and Paul Grabow of Waco, Texas; three grandchildren, Rachel, Ben and Thomas Grabow; and his sister, Jean Simms of La Jolla, Calif. Donald Eugene Lloyd, 63, a sales representative at the Tulsa, Okla., office of distributorship Global DocuGraphix Inc., Lincolnshire, Ill., died May 1. He was a member of Cedar Ridge Christian Church, Tulsa, and the Late Great Chevy Club. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Nancy; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jennifer Lloyd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Todd Gillespie, and Donna and Kevin Kashwer; seven grandchildren, Kelsie Lloyd, Mollie Kaylor, Katy Kashwer, Hunter Kashwer, Tyler Coday, Dalton Gillespie and Kaitlynn Gillespie; and his mother-in-law, Cleo Moulton. Services were held May 3 at Cedar Ridge Christian Church, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
