PROMOTIONS
Karl Karch joined Dayton, Ohio-based manufacturer CRABAR/ GBF as director of operations. He's responsible for integrating systems, procedures and operations to enhance the company's ability to serve clients nationwide. Karch, who has a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering, previously served as GBF Graphics' vice president of manufacturing.
Jean Neveu was named interim president and CEO of Montreal-based manufacturer Quebecor World North America. Neveu, who has more than 30 years of experience in the printing and media industry, served as president and CEO from 1989 to 1997 and as chairman of the board from 1989 to 2002. He replaced Michel Desbiens, who resigned as president and CEO for personal reasons. David S. Boles was named COO. He's responsible for the company's operations in North America. Boles, who has 20 years of experience in the printing industry, previously served as co-chief operating officer. Prior to that appointment, he served as president of the company's North America retail insert and Sunday magazine group. John R. Paloian, co-chief operating officer, left the company.
Michael Cooke was named vice president and general manager of Dallas-based business management system supplier PRIMAC Systems Inc.'s Dallas facility. PRIMAC is a subsidiary of VERCOM Software Inc. Cooke also was appointed vice president and secretary of PRIMAC's board. Cooke, who has maintained a professional relationship with the company for more than 20 years and has served as a company employee since 1995, is responsible for PRIMAC's daily operations and oversees company growth. Ziad Yamout, formerly COO, was named executive director of product development. He's responsible for advancing the company's software platforms.
Doug Belkofer was named director of product development at Pittsburgh-based supplier Printcafe Software Inc. (PSI). An original PSI developer, Belkofer leads an expanded development team at the company's headquarters. Previously, he served as the company's director of integration technology and as a member of the CIP4 organization. Warren Tanabe continues to serve as PSI product manager. Filip Buyse was named vice president of worldwide sales. Previously, he served as vice president of sales for North America and Latin America. Prior to joining the company, Buyse served 18 years in various sales and sales management positions at Heidelberg Web Press, most recently as vice president of sales.
NEW HIRES
Dan Hopkins joined Roanoke, Va.-based manufacturer InfoSeal LLC as a regional sales manager. He's responsible for consulting with and serving the company's distributor clients. Hopkins has more than 30 years of forms industry sales and marketing experience, including owning a distributorship.
Buddy Lane joined distributorship franchise Proforma as owner of Proforma Quality Solutions, Saskatchewan, Canada. Previously, he served 17 years at Moore Corporation Ltd., where he was a member of the company's Achievement Club and President's Club. In 2002, Lane was elected sales representative of the year for Moore's Canadian division.
Theodore J. Theophilos was named executive vice president of business and legal affairs at Mississauga, Ontario-based manufacturer Moore Corporation Ltd. Theophilos, who is based at the company's facility in Bannockburn, Ill., previously served as senior vice president and general counsel at hand-held computer manufacturer Palm Inc. Prior to that, he held similar positions at E*TRADE, True North and AC Neilsen.
Alexander van Meeuwen joined supplier NexPress Solutions LLC, a joint venture of Eastman Kodak Company and Heidelberg, as vice president of global sales for its color business unit. He focuses on global sales channel management and works closely with Heidelberg market centers to help drive worldwide sales of the NexPress 2100 digital production color press. Meeuwen, who has more than 20 years of graphic arts industry experience, previously served as chairman and interim chief executive officer of Esna Ltd., president of Agfa Corp.'s graphic systems business unit, and director of Agfa-Gevaert Ltd.'s graphic and office systems divisions.
Hanju Lee joined Baltimore distributorship PrintManage as art director, expanding the company's graphic and web creative design services. He earned a bachelor's degree in corporate communications and a master's degree in publication design from the University of Baltimore. Mary-Beth Yachimowicz joined the company as director of marketing. She's responsible for adding support to the company's sales efforts and promoting its identity in the marketplace. Yachimowicz, who has a bachelor of science degree in mass communications from Towson University, Towson, Md., previously served nearly nine years with French Bray, a Baltimore commercial offset printer. She gained advertising experience working for Eisner and Associates, a Baltimore advertising and public relations agency.
