Inc., Midlothian, Texas, reported
financial results for the quarter
and the year ended Feb. 28. Revenues
increased by $194 million over
last year. Profits increased 78
percent for the year, from approximately
$23 million to approximately $41
million. The company reported
income of $9.3 million in its
quarter ended Feb. 28, up from
$6.9 million in the year-ago period.

The agreement provides thousands
of regional print resellers a
national source for DSS’
anti-counterfeiting technologies.
The AuthentiGuard Survivor 21
employs a covert security icon
into the check background. The
AuthentiGuard Pantograph 4000
employs a hidden pantograph background
for use in financial instruments
such as checks, money orders,
gift certificates, rebates, coupons
and vital records.

Reports Q1 Profit
Cenveo
Inc., Stamford, Conn., announced
its results for the three months
ended March 31. For the first
quarter, the company reported
a net income of $112.2 million
compared to a net loss of $22.6
million in the first quarter of
2005. Net sales for the quarter
decreased to $426.7 million from
$449.6 million in 2005, primarily
due to the company’s decision
to close or sell several non-strategic
businesses.

to Open Offices in Florida
Webb/Mason,
Hunt Valley, Md., opened offices
in Tampa Bay, Fla. Mike Lawson
will manage the office. He has
30 years of experience in the
industry, including commercial
print, web-based print technology
solutions and direct marketing.
The Tampa Bay office is the 16th
office Webb/Mason has opened.

Register Launches Marketing Software
Standard
Register, Dayton, Ohio, has launched
SMARTworks Profiler and Prospector
web solutions that allow clients
to develop prospect lists and
then create, print and launch
targeted, personalized marketing
print campaigns. Profiler helps
clients develop a cluster profile
of customers by identifying demographic
data and life-stage characteristics.
Prospector allows users to customize
searches for prospects using demographic
and geographic attributes to build
a mailing list of likely prospects
for products and services.
Additionally,
the company renewed and expanded
its agreement with MedAssets Supply
Chain Systems provide document
management services. The $110
million, multi-year contract provides
MedAssets customers with print-on-demand
and copying services, e-procurement
solutions, patient identification
systems, consulting and design
services.
Georgia-Pacific
to Close Savannah Plant
Georgia-Pacific
Corp., Atlanta, plans to shut
down and sell its Savannah, Ga.,
hardwood plywood facility and
cut 160 jobs starting June 17,
according to a May 8 story in
the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Because of the location and size
of the property, and the Savannah
industrial real estate market,
the company said it has received
a “substantial level of
interest” in the site, according
to the Georgia Department of Labor.
Staples,
HP Move Ahead in Wide-Format Market
Staples
Inc., Framingham, Mass., said
it added color-printing services
using large-format printers from
Hewlett-Packard Co., Palo Alto,
Calif., in more than 1,250 stores
in the United States, according
to a Reuters story. The move allows
HP to garner a larger portion
of the $90 billion to $100 billion
wide-format graphics market, which
includes posters, signs and banners.
For Staples, it represents a new
revenue stream. Staples installed
the HP Designjet 130nr printer
that can print on media up to
24 inches wide and up to 50 feet
long.

to Offer Services to Italian Ice
Chain
WorkflowOne,
Dayton, Ohio, was selected by
an Italian ice franchise chain
to provide document and business
communication services. Rita’s
Water Ice Franchise Company LLC,
Bensalem, Pa., relaunched its
online merchandise store, which
is powered by WorkflowOne. WorkflowOne
will provide offer promotional
materials and streamline the ordering
and fulfillment processes for
Rita’s.

Software
FedEx
Kinko’s, Dallas, upgraded
its File, Print FedEx Kinko’s
software that allows customers
to print directly to any FedEx
Kinko’s Office and Print
Center nationwide from their desktops.
New features include the ability
to print multiple files per order
and automatic order preview for
online proofing. Customers also
can securely store credit card
and billing information to streamline
future orders.
