PROMOTIONS
Allen Conway was named president of Englewood, Colo.-based Cenveo's resale segment, which is doing business under the name Quality Park. He previously served as executive vice president for the resale custom division of Cenveo. Conway replaces Bob Hart, who was named special assistant to the chairman. Hart now is responsible for implementing a company-wide quality improvement initiative and executing key business improvement opportunities.

John Laabs was appointed director of marketing at Fox River Paper Company, Appleton, Wis. Laabs leads the marketing department's strategic marketing disciplines and new product development. Previously, Laabs worked in various sales and marketing capacities for Fox River and Gilbert paper brands.
Richard A. Allart was appointed chief of sales operations in Indiana and Michigan by Muller Martini Corp., Hauppauge, N.Y. He provides printers and binderies in the two states with stitching, perfect binding and press delivery technology. Previously, Allart handled sales for the company in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah.

Curt Bandow was named plant manager at Blanchester, Ohio-based The Allen Company, a manufacturer of promotional products. Werner Crawford was named production manager, and Donna Purdy was named comptroller.

Marcel Kiessling was named president of Heidelberg Americas Inc., Atlanta. The sales region of Heidelberg Americas comprises Canada, the United States, Mexico and South America. Kiessling previously served as head of the Germany/Switzerland Market Center and president of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Vertrieb Deutschland GmbH. He was replaced by Werner Albrecht, who most recently served as president of Heidelberg Web Systems Inc. until its takeover by Goss International.

Dr. James Rogers was appointed director, new business development, for Flint Ink Corporation, Ann Arbor, Mich. Rogers succeeds Leonard Walle, who retired in June. In his new role, Rogers oversees the global cultivation and development of business opportunities involving new markets, business models and technologies. He joined Flint Ink in 2000 and previously held the position of technical director of analytical chemistry and physical sciences at the company's global research and manufacturing technology development center.

Shelly Stopper was named product sales manager at Houston-based supplier Valéron Strength Films. Her responsibilities in the Performance Print Media group include day-to-day management of accounts using the company's sign, banner and tape applications. She previously held management, sales, marketing and production management positions at Insta-Bulk, a business unit of Illinois Tool Works Inc.

Christopher Payne was named director of product planning and strategy for Eastman Kodak Company's Graphic Communications Group (GCG), Rochester, N.Y. He provides cross-GCG support for market planning, definition, and new product concepts and launches. He recently served as the chief marketing officer of NexPress Solutions Inc., also owned by Kodak. Eileen McMahon was named market planning manager. Previously, she served as director of quality and customer satisfaction for the Commercial Imaging Group at Kodak. Mark Weber was named group director of alliances and acquisitions. He develops partnerships for new product development and channel sales to improve GCG product portfolios, increase sales and identify acquisition opportunities. Paula Balik was named segment manager, in-plant printing. Andre Hill was named segment manager, corporate data centers and service bureaus. Charles Hura was named segment manager, digital services. Cheryl Nelan was named segment manager, commercial printing. The segment managers provide cross-product group support for marketing activities. Anthony Sanzio was named marketing communications director. He oversees advertising, public relations, trade shows and consultant engagements. Sanzio joins GCG from Kodak's Corporate Media Relations department. Anne Wakeman was named market intelligence manager. She recently has worked for Kodak in a variety of roles, including corporate audit and business research.


NEW HIRES
Robert Harmison joined the marketing and sales department at Trade Printers Inc., Phoenix. Harmison, who has more than 30 years of forms industry experience, previously worked for a DMIA Top 100 forms manufacturer. He is responsible for advancing the company in the forms and integrated card/label markets.

Johan Laurent joined Standard Finishing Systems, Andover, Mass., as Hunkeler business manager, responsible for marketing and selling Hunkeler pre- and post-processing equipment as well as managing relationships with the company's printer vendors. Laurent most recently worked as an industry consultant at Interquest. David Oram joined Standard Finishing Systems' sales team as folder specialist, providing folding applications knowledge and technical expertise to Standard dealers and end users. Previously, he worked for two major folder manufacturers.

Cynthia Olson was named office manager at Sterling Business Forms Inc., San Diego, Calif., where she focuses on customer service. She previously served as business department supervisor, production manager and manufacturing manager at Harland Company, a software supplier and check printer headquartered in Decatur, Ga.

Chris Friend was named executive vice president of sales and marketing, Europe, R.O.W. at Vio, London. He is responsible for Vio's sales of advertising supply-chain management solutions outside North America. Friend previously held board-level positions with Wam!Net and senior appointments at MacEurope and 3M Imation.

Elizabeth Halaki was named vice president of marketing for Océ Business Services Inc., Chicago. She is responsible for bringing strategic marketing leadership and program direction to OBS document process outsourcing activities in the United States. Most recently, Halaki was senior vice president of marketing and business development at Identrus LLC.

Louis DeConcilis was named account manager at Triangle Printers Inc., Skokie, Ill. He has more than 20 years of printing industry experience and is responsible for business development, client relationship and project management.

Mark J. Youngbrandt was named technical sales representative at Gans Ink & Supply Co.'s Addison, Ill. branch. Youngbrandt previously worked as a representative for ink, chemical and prepress organizations. His career includes press operations for a prestigious commercial printer as well as training and troubleshooting for a major press manufacturer.

David Piccus was named centralized technical support contact for GMG products at The Color Management Distribution (CMD), San Jose, Calif. Piccus certifies new consultants and resellers of the GMG product line. He has created documentation and procedures for use by CMD's certified GMG installers.


RETIREMENT
Charles H. Greiner Jr. retired as senior vice president of commercial development, printing papers, from International Paper, Memphis. Greiner, who spent 32 years in the printing papers business, began as a sales correspondent at Union Camp's Franklin, Va.-based mill. He held positions in sales and marketing and assisted the startup of Union Camp's Eastover, S.C., paper mill in 1984. Greiner became executive vice president responsible for chemical products and distribution, and head of the fine paper division before the mill merged with International Paper in 1999. Greiner recently received the National Paper Trade Association's Stanley O. Styles Industry Excellence Award for his commitment to the distribution business, innovation in the field and good citizenry.
